Digital Education for Development (DEDO) is a Tanzanian non-profit, non-governmental organization advancing inclusive digital education, technology access and community-centered innovation.
Registered in November 2023 under Tanzania's Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002, Certificate No. OONGO/R/5590, DEDO is based in Misenyi District, Kagera Region and works to expand digital opportunity for communities and institutions in Tanzania Mainland.
We respond to a practical development challenge: many learners, educators, young people, women, farmers and community institutions are still unable to fully benefit from digital transformation because they lack relevant skills, equipment, connectivity or implementation support.

From digital access to practical use
DEDO helps people move beyond basic technology awareness toward confident and productive use of digital tools for education, employment, entrepreneurship, communication, research, agriculture and improved service delivery.
Our work includes mobilizing computers, laptops, tablets, phones, projectors, connectivity equipment and other learning technologies for assessed schools and community environments. Where appropriate, responsible refurbishment and reuse can extend the useful life of equipment while expanding access.
Responsible technology and emerging opportunities
As digital tools evolve, DEDO is increasing community awareness and responsible application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. We emphasize locally relevant use, safety, privacy, accessibility and human oversight, especially in education, health, employment and community services.
Partnership and accountability
DEDO welcomes collaboration with foundations, development agencies, companies, research institutions, universities, government bodies, civil-society organizations and technology partners. Partnership design is based on defined needs, practical implementation roles and appropriate documentation of activities and results.
